Podcasts have become a major way of consuming content in the last five years. While we still love reading as well, consuming audio is so much easier. Whether you’re driving, in the gym, jogging, or cooking, you can always put your Airpods on and listen to a podcast.
Podcasts, just like Youtube videos, have become the long-format media we crave for. People want depth, and as time has shown, we are ready to listen to 2-hour interviews. Or talks on specific topics.
And ambitious entrepreneurs (just the types we like) want to learn, all the time, whenever they have the opportunity.
In this article, I am going to list out some of my favourite podcasts for entrepreneurs. This is not a conclusive list, as there are so many good ones out there. But it’s a list of podcasts I tune in for on a weekly basis. I have left out the most known ones like Tim Ferriss Show or Joe Rogan podcast, which are great as well.
The POMP Podcast
The Pomp Podcast was originally named “Off The Chain”. It was mainly about bitcoin and cryptocurrency-related topics. Now, the podcast has a different name because of the diversity of the guests in the show. It’s still mainly business-related topics, and it’s probably the podcast I’ve listened to most in 2019-2020. Pomp puts out several episodes per week, he has great energy, great questions, and great guests. It’s one to check out if you’re curious about how successful people from business and investment world think and operate.
We Study Billionaires
We Study Billionaires is a podcast hosted by Stig Brodersen and Preston Pysh. The podcast is focused on how to invest, what’s happening in the economy, and has some of the best information on the macroeconomy and how to position yourself in any economic condition. The hosts are very knowledgable and I really like this show.
NfX is a venture capital firm and they low-key have a podcast as well. I somehow stumbled upon the NfX Podcast and I am glad it happened. There are insights from VCs on what they look for in companies, and there are many extremely successful founders who come by and talk about their experiences. You can even listen to interviews with the founders that usually aren’t tweeting and being on the spotlight, like for example, the founder of Graigslist.
Entrepreneur Stories 4 Inspiration
I like this podcast because of the variety of guests. It’s not only about online businesses and founders. There are so many people with their success stories, and this podcast interviews people that I normally don’t find in other podcasts. For example, a recent episode with the founder of Big Ass Fans (sold for $500MM).
The Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu
Tom is a great entrepreneur, extremely successful, and for sure a guy you don’t want to compete against. He’s got great interviews with a variety of people, and he just seems to be a type of person who has succeeded against all the odds. He has some relationship stuff in there from time to time which I usually skip. Though I probably shouldn’t. Either way, I recommend to check out his podcast and his story as well.
These are some of the podcasts I listen to most frequently. There are many more I like, of course, like Ed Mylett’s podcast, Business Wars, Masters of Scale, Business School, and so on. I have a question for you: do you have any recommendations to give us which podcasts we should add to our listening list?
